I have a PC with Windows XP installed and want to try out how Ubuntu (or Linux Mint) performs when using the nVidia driver.

Unfortunately, after installing the video driver, the live CD, asks me to reboot, so losing all my changes.

Is there a way of using the nVidia driver with a live CD?

Thank you for that link - couldn't find it using the search tool.

I'll give it a try.

How about making a 4GB bootable USB stick with 3GB persistence file. I find these great for testing and you can use it over and over till you are happy with the setup. Just don't attempt to do the updates b'cos that will swamp your persistence file.

You can install things like Skype on it though.
