The system recognizes the signal and asks me to input the network password, which matches; but when asked for the second password, the "nm connection editor", the password doesn't match. Isn't that password the same as the log on?

I'm not sure I've ever seen that particular error. And, yes, you would think the nm connection editor would be asking for your usual sudo password. But maybe it's asking for a keyring password? I've never figured out what the point of that is, but it's something you define the first time you connect to a network after a new install, and every once in a while the system asks for it for some reason. Any chance that's what this is?
