Hi!

I installed ubuntu on my friends computer. Installation went smooth with no errors, but when I try to boot ubuntu it's doesn't get anywhere. All I get is a blinking underscore in the top left corner. Since I don't dual boot I don't get any grub menu. Ctrl+alt+f1 doesn't work, neither does pressing enter (read that someone had a similar problem where this helped).

I installed via UNetbootin, and when I try to boot via the UNetbootin there is no problem. Everything loads. First I though that I made a mistake and installed ubuntu on the USB drive, but everything is installed on the hdd. Maybe the MBR is corrupted or something? Her previous Windows booted alright though.

It is a Compaq CQ60.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I obviously mean blinking underscore in top LEFT corner
