I want to install Ubuntu Server on my netbook but I am having some problems with the installation via USB storage media.
I first I've attempted to install both Ubuntu Server 10.04.1 created via the Startup Disk Creator but I receive the error message that the packages were corrupted just after finishing the partition manager. I've also tried this using Ubuntu Server 9.04 as well with the same error.
I then tried to install the server using: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuServerFlashDriveInstaller
but the installer couldn't detect the cdrom drive but obviously the netbook doesn't have one.
I finally tried to install the server using: http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-ubuntu-linux-from-usb-stick.html
but it couldn't find the iso file on the USB storage media.
And to make sure it wasn't my netbook that was causing the problems I tried all of the above on my desktop and ran into the same problems each time.
I would appreciate any help with this as I've spent a few hours trying to get this to work with no success.
