Now you just posted this equinox version of your theme to make mine feel outdated, didn't you? :P

Hahaha. Perhaps just a little. I wanted to re-write everything from scratch using only the equinox engine. The old one was put together in a scrappy fashion from elementary, WOW and victory GTKs. I'm still not entirely happy with the scrollbars, and I don't think I'm going to get them where I want them without using pixmaps. Also, I'm not sure how to fix the hinting (the faint blue selection outline) on entry-boxes to include the drop-arrow - it looks weird because only three sides of the entry box will have hinting and the arrow on the right side wont.

### EDIT ###
I gave up and submitted to using pixmap scrollbars. Thanks to lassekongo83's "Cold Snap" gtk for the scrollbars. I also made an equinox version of lassekongo83's "droid" emerald theme.

How'd you apply that filter? I'd love that

In the new version there is a code view, there you can apply whatever filter you want.

I have attached a file with my icon settings, import it in the acyl gui, go the the codeview, refresh to check if it works, apply. ;)

The filter does not scale well to all icon sizes, especially the small ones, an example of this is the rhythmbox icon in the top right corner of my screenshot. I suspect it is because of svg rendering problems in gnome.

Be more specific about the problems you see.

The GTK theme looks like redmond or whatever gnome defaults to when the selected theme can't be loaded. It has happened to me a lot of times while tinkering themes. It has also happened to me with some murrine-based themes that needed the newest one while I had some older one.

Try installing this: http://rghost.net/2427728

Unless that gtk theme looks as it is supposed to look which means I'm a jerk and you're ok.

Nice. I get so tempted to switch to openbox when I see all these beautiful minimalistic desktop environments.

Whats the issue with indicator applets though? Can't see anything wrong with them in the screenshots.

So was I, too bad i never did :p That's gnome, i've just bound the gnome-menu to my mouse buttons.

lmfao i haven't exactly figured it out yet, but my dropbox menu is gone, and rhythmbox doesn't show up any longer... aaaand because i made the icons text, the volume menu looks ridiculous. :)

I changed my theme for the first time in a long time.

Nothing too special, just Equinox Controls (and Faenza-Dark icons) with the Mist Window Border (still can't find anything better than Mist). AWN running on the right-hand side of the screen and gnome-globalmenu on the top panel.

Currently writing a metaphysics essay on time.

It's quite refreshing seeing a clean, non-rounded and dockless gnome setup. Your windecs seem a bit tall and I'm not sure about those thingies at the bottom, but other than that it seems very space-efficient. There was a time I'd theme something similar, but nowadays I'm aiming for something with a bit more contrast (not because I want to, but because 90% of the internet is so damn bright and I can't possibly make dark stylesheets to cover every single site out there)

Can't really help with the applet problem. I haven't used Gnome in a long while.... Sorry.

No ur not a jerk I start with a theme I like and change things like gtk with border of my choice, icons etc.

i think they started with ff4b6pre. I noticed the unified urlbar and reload button and that tabbs on top looks now nicer. i just removed the menu bar and replaced it with personal menu addon.

My files were extensioned oddly. After a quick rename drag and drop worked fine. The problem is it won't play them in album order. Only alphanumeric by title.
I remember using an audio player that had an option about loading files based on filename or tracknumber but I can't remember which one it was.

Your screenshots always seem the best to me.
I'm glad you like them :)

im Using a "portable" version of firefox. i just downloaded firefox-4.0b6pre.en-US.linux-i686.tar.bz2, extracted into the firefox-portable folder, dubble click on "loader.sh" and choose execute thats all. i uploaded my portable firefox with including stylish styles for elementary and ambiance.

the best thing with the loader.sh is you can run the betas at the same time with your current installed version of firefox

Did away with my panel using Avant Window Navigator. Also, my first screenshot post. Metacity is Radiance, GTK is Equinox Radiance, Font is Linux Biolinum (available in the Linux Libertine font package) (in the terminal I use Inconsolata). Icons are boring new Faenza :D. Also, the Equinox PPA needs to start adding the 32-bit libs in for 64-bit users so that Skype and similar applications can look nice without having to manually add the libraries.

I mostly rely on notify-osd and docky's icon changing state (the messaging menu applet seems a bit too sophisticated for such an basic job), although an indicator for pidgin would be nice.

Hy,

Some link for wallpaper?
What is the dock? AWN...

Hi Fremen,
Sorry about that,
I usually put all the pertinent info with my screenshots,
I just got lazy today i guess, doh.

Here is the WP~
http://notmiown.deviantart.com/art/Ubiquitous-178245525?q=favby%3ARasa13%2F9606494&qo=5 <3

Dock is AWN, with Lucido style applied.

Gnome/GTK Theme~ Ambiantastic, /aka AmbianceIII , tweaked slightly.

Window controls are Equinox Ambient.

I think that's it..

That Dock + Wallpaper + Lucid themed colour scheme is simply amazing. Not a big fan of the GTK, I think it kinda looks ugly and sloppy in places,, but love the strong ubuntu theming.

Really Really love that dock. Is there anything special to it? Have to play around with the Lucido settings some more.

Oooh... and I'm going to try out that icon set. Looks interesting.

Seriously though, I really like that metacity. Is it a relatively new addition to the equinox theme set? I don't remember seeing it previously.

glad you like it.

yeah the GTK theme could be better in places, i like it though.

The dock is my favorite part to! (and the Ubuntu color theming) lol

I havent really done anything special to it,
except for added in a couple "expanders" here and there,
like~ http://ubuntuforums.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=168804&stc=1&d=1283881919<~~"main menu applet" should be shown here @ the end)

and tweaked *most* of the settings that one is allowed to play with. like ~ http://ubuntuforums.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=168805&stc=1&d=1283881919

that's pretty much it.

thanks. <3

Hey, I'm a GUI zealot and I think your setups are easily among the best. Wish I could make my OpenBox setup look like yours!I was only half-joking about that GUI thread thing .... and my setups are flat, anyone could do it if they wanted to.

I like this a lot! Only thing really is that monospace font... Its a bit excessive being on everything,, would hurt my eyes too much to constantly be bombarded by that terminal font. But I'm a big fan of the clean and minimal.Sorry about that. I'm quite attached to pixel fonts. Terminus might be a bit too hard-edged, so in retrospect, I could've gone with something a tad more rounded (like Monte Carlo).

you have outdone yourself with this one, i am using rusticity now, but if you make this one available, i will switch. Great work!Glad you like it. I'm actually really fond of Rusticity, but wasn't really good at GTK syntax when I made it, and the retina-rape when I opened up Google's search page got a bit painful after a while (seriously, I'm all for a free net, but there should at least be some mandatory rule that forces all webpage makers to have both a light and dark version)....

Anyhoo, I'll archive the GTK and OBT along with the usual tint2 and conky configs, and upload it in a couple of days time. Will PM you a link when it's done (or you could just check the usual thread at the #! forums)

Haven't posted in a while...

It just feels right like this with the elegant brit theme. :) Now I need to do something with xcompmgr to get shadows under the windows and menus cause they all blend too much.

Dark backdrops usually do well with heavy shadows.
try 'xcompmgr -cfF -t-7.9 -l-8 -r5.6 -o.55 -D1' (play with o and D values for shadow weight and fade time)

Currently on my Slitaz partition ... it's pretty bare, so here's some Byobu crap

Also, don't expect any significant effort to be invested in a port of Flow to Equinox anytime soon. I'm very satisfied with the tweaking I've done with Murrine.
