View Full Version : [ubuntu] Microsoft Lifecam VX-3000

Using Lucid 10.04.

I finally got my Lifecam VX3000 to work thanks to this thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8569519) and I'm really grateful because I've been searching forever to try and make this cam work.

My trouble is the resolution. The picture is really really grainy and I cannot figure out how to solve this. I am using Cheese and I tried moving the resolutions around (they give 3: 640x480, 320x240, 160x120) but that does not make a differences. The only other settings in the preferences there are for image properties (brightness, hue, etc.) and something call Burst mode.

I feel sure this is not a bad webcam but it looks like one

Please help! And thank you.

Thanks for your reply, No2498. I am going to look at that other program and see how it goes. I am hopeful things will work out as I cannot afford a more Linux-compatible cam at this time.

Thanks, again.

adjust the manual focus on the camera.
