Seriously, this is ridiculous.

I hate to change permissions every time I download a new .exe file. Isn't there a way to disable this?

Execute from terminal.

wine /path/to/file.exe

Execute from terminal.

wine /path/to/file.exe

Thanks, but the goal is to find a way to disable the annoying default Nautilus/Gnome protection.

This is an important security feature, nothing can download and run itself (as in harmful e-mail attachments) without your explicit permission.

Use the terminal or all three clicks to change the permission in nautilus.

Linux is about freedom isn't it?
The users should have the freedom to disable features that they don't like.

Then disable it. No point crying here about something you can easily fix ?

There is a 6 page thread in these forums on the subject with the solution you desire.
