I have a problem with accessing the offline help files in Writer in OpenOffice.org 3.2 (for brevity O3.2).
My operating system is Ubuntu 10.04.
I posted this problem on the Open Office Forum on 22 Aug 2010 but have had no replies so I decided to try my luck on the Ubuntu Forum.
When I tried to use the offline O3.2 Help in Writer by selecting :
(1) Ubuntu 10.04 > Applications > Office > OpenOffice.org Word processor > Help > OpenOffice.org Help
a message said no help file had been installed and openoffice.org-help-en-us should be installed.
I used Ubuntu 10.04 > System > Administration > Synaptic Packet Manager
to install:
(2) openoffice.org-help-en-us office productivity suite -- English_american help
Then I repeated (1) above. This time a help page was momentarily displayed, but too quick to read, then there was a message saying O3.2 had crashed.
I reinstalled (2) but got the same message when I repeated (1), saying that O3.2 had crashed.
Any help with solving this problem would be appreciated.
