Tearing my hair out bc of 10.04 - errno 5

This crap won't go away and won't let my install Ubuntu 10.04 in any circumstances.

This is my first time using Linux and it's not encouraging. I've done all the md5 tests and usb uploads and it's been as useful as a pocket in my underwear... (think about it, it's effing useless).

If there's a problem with my HD, there isn't one with my hcsd and I get the same errno 5 error there. Going out of my head here

Sorry but I never encountered the same error so don't know which error are u talking about

Installing 10.04 it never gets further than 54% because of an I/O error that linux calls a errno 5 error. I've tried everything on the forums and nothing.
