I was just wondering were a good site is to go to find good menu panel Gnome applets? (New to Ubuntu and look to spruce up my Desktop :)

You can find a few additional applets in the repositories, but I don't know about any specific site for gnome panel applets.
Maybe Google can help much more in finding these websites, if there any.

It must be said that if you want cool Desktop Applets, you should try Kubuntu! Many are available right out of the box.
