View Full Version : [ubuntu] 10.4 Upgrade - Now Suspend/Resume often Reboots

August 27th, 2010, 02:52 PM
Just upgraded to Lucid 10.4. Now my Acer Notebook (4920) suspend/resume function is flaky. Roughly every 4 or 5 cycles it hard reboots instead of resuming. It used to work much better and rarely ever had a problem.

Has anyone else seen this behaviour or have ideas how to fix it?

I have to say, this has been the first upgrade in 2+ years of Ubuntu that has ended up being worse in several ways for me. I should have stayed with 9.10 as it worked better.

I think I have an idea what caused this.

I noticed that when it happened the system always wanted to do a fsck after boot because it had hit the count set during formatting. I didn't have time to run that check for a number of reboots.

After I did allow the fsck to complete I have not had the resume fail again... yet.

That would seem to be a bug then that resume won't work when a fsck is scheduled. I wonder if anyone else has seen that behaviour?

And where would I report it?
