Last week of Gnome, then I switch to KDE so I can put the snowfall effect until spring. Ski Time!

http://ompldr.org/tNmRqbQ (http://ompldr.org/vNmRqbQ)
Wallpaper is stock due to the Gnome and 10.04+ bug with dual monitors and properly scaling across both. I decided to give up on even setting a wallpaper.

Gtk is My Elementary EM
Icons are Faenza-Cupertino
Font is Aller

Can't remember who made Conky template. And in my sig is the link for Xbox Live Friends on Conky.

Yes, I would really like so see the look on a someone's face (who is unfamiliar to Linux/Ubuntu) when they see your top panel that looks like OSX and your window decorations that look like Vista.

And even if it is someone who knows about Stardock and Window Blinds I will tell them this is default ability for customizing. (Give me my cpu cycles back)

I also love that one can make Ubuntu look just how one wants it to. Customization is one of the things I love about Ubuntu, and I fail to understand why Windowsremoved that ability and OS X doesn't offer it at all....Oh well. +1 for Linux. :D

Thanks. They're kinda daytime themes. Due to the light here I use the light one during the day.
It's a modified equinox theme. I'm trying to apply the same gradient like in the openbox menu to the equinox theme . Tried everything, it's driving me nuts.Wait, I'll post one to show what I mean. The compiz deskmenu is flat, one color. It would be nice to have a gradient.

Almost done. All thats left is per-app styles for Firefox, Office and Skype. And a panel image. And I just noticed - fixing the arrows in the breadcrumbs to look right. Oh yeah, and getting around to delving into the mire that is metacity (its only emerald at the moment).

Tell me, NightwishFan, do any of the recent updates allow for that Unity dock thing to be autohidden, or is that feature strictly 11.04alpha for now?

Archlinux running Openbox. Tried to make everything look zenburnish.
[snip]Nice setup. Also like your Ncmcpp colours. Only thing I'd change (or remove in this case) are the icons on the left of window decorations.

Not a fan of the retina-raping bright white GTK, but the translucency of the emerald theme and terminal against that backdrop is pure sex.

Your power button/icon is kinda in a weird place, though.
I figured it made sense to put the Lock Screen, Log Out and Shut Down icons next to the System menu, since they're a quicker way of performing those functions. And if they were on the far right, replacing Indicator Applet Session, it would be too easy to click on them when you're aiming for the buttons in a maximised window.

If you are just wanting to run the UNR then sure but you will not have all the apps and other parts that were installed to make Oz Unity.

That's one of my favourite sayings! Except replace "behind" with another name for "donkey" followed by "hole". ;)

I do love the Princess Bride however. Have to agree with you about the Coens though - although I do like The Hudsucker Proxy as well.

I think much of the appeal of Faenza is that it is a very complete and consistent icon set (coupled with a lot of recent obsession over apple design). I have a sort of love/hate relationship with Faenza. I love its consistency, which, excepting monochrome iconsets, is unmatched except for maybe Tango, Gnome, Ubuntu/Humanity & Elementary. Its best asset is also its greatest curse and frequently find myself switching to the default ubuntu-mono-* or AwOken because I find shapes are best for recognizing icons. I really dislike Elementary, it feels like a cheap mix of mac-rip-off and tango. And I really haven't found that many more icon sets that are quite complete with consistent styles and colour schemes.

*Apologies for the smell emanating from this post* ;)

Not that Canonical ever did much better...

I'd love to know what the MS designer was smoking when they developed XP. :P

Bright green on bright blue and a gummy, plastic look... Really?

LOL,
no doubt!

I'm sure whatever it was they were smokin'on..
was not the ganja....
as the ganja helps create beautiful art...
not "that".. whatever 'that' is...
Man, I do not miss that... not in the least! lol

I find the faenza-conky uses far too many resources. Whats the point of a resource monitor thats using more resources than the actual programs I'm using. Looks beautiful, but the resource usage makes it useless.

If I look in top with Chrome, Thunderbird, Nautilus and Gedit open with Rhythmbox playing I'm sitting at 90-95% idle cpu cycles. Once I pop on the faenza-conky it drops down to about 70-75% consistently. Thats 20% CPU usage from a system monitor... Utterly ridiculous, and the update speed is slow too. Maybe its something wrong at my end, but the conky configs I've made in the past have used no more than 2-3% with a peak of maybe 7-8%.

I'm currently trying to make a Win 98 icon theme. Can anyone help with identifying mimetype icons?

I found this wallpaper though, and it suited much better.

I love this second wall. It's so, well, ME some days. I was going to ask for a link, but I found it here (http://peepboon.blogspot.com/2010/01/im-not-doing-****-wallpaper.html).

This is mostly just a combination of my favorite controls/theme/icons/wallpaper etc
Thought i would do a nice ice cold looking feel, not using screenlets anymore because they were using 30-40 % CPU !!!
If you want to know the sources (theme, icons etc) just let me know.

Anyone know a good image/picture hosting site where i could store and organize my screenshots ?
just using omploader atm for handiness.

Thanks.

Use 'Expander' applet in applets menu.In AWN settings->Applets find 'expander' and put after 'Launcher/Taskmanager' applet if you like to expand the dock like i do.
See the screenshot.
