Is there some kind of special relationship between these two that Commodore should have a page dedicated to Ubuntu on their website?

I don't know: the screenshots they have aren't of the default 10.04. :D

Nothing special about that machine at all - it's just a Cybernetman, that's been available for about 5 years! http://www.cybernetman.com/

At least they have improved their Commodore USA website from what it was like some months back, as it was very poorly made.

I agree it is still a bit strange.

Just another business trying to make some money, using the Commodore name & the Amigo name in an effort to attract more customers. Pretty thin really.

all of this being said, their ubuntu page is very well done.

This isn't the "real" Commodore--that corporation went bankrupt years ago. I imagine these guys have bought the trademark rights.

I'll stick with my official, albeit old, 8bit C64, that just looks a bit odd for my taste.

What about that makes any of it a commodore? The 64k of ram, rom basic os, and nifty characters, etc., are what made a commodore a commodore. Those are just another ibm clone, just in a commodore looking keyboard/case. If I wanted a compact ibm clone, I'd just get a laptop.

I first learned basic on a c64, then on a c128, and after that I got an amiga 500 and wrote a lame space invaders kind of game. those were good times.
