View Full Version : [ubuntu] Amarok will not autodetect my ipod nano 3g

Right. First I need to say that I am not using Amarok 2. I downgraded to Amarok 1.4.10 using KDE 3.5.10. This is not about Amarok 2. I am using the current version of Ubuntu (10.04 to date).

When I plug in my iPod, Amarok automaticly begins to play the music on it (that's annoying but still okay, atm) but the iPod doesn't show up in the devices tab and I cannot directly connect to it to add/remove songs, and album art and such. I cannot manually mount the iPod either. I know the music it is playing is from the iPod not only because the iPod is the only place I have music on my system, but also because the mount point of the music clearly states that it's coming from /media/iPod.

Is there anyone out there that can help me with this annoying issue?

I don't want to upgrade to Amarok 2 because it's really a downgrade as Amarok 2 has all the features that I want removed.

I will however gladly downgrade again if that'll solve the issue. I figure I can safely go down to Amarok 1.4.5 and still be okay.

Thanks in advance for the advice.
