View Full Version : [ubuntu] workspace separation suddenly stops working in Karmic

After a recent set of updates, including a new kernel, my desktop workspace functionality suddenly changed. Previously, my workspaces were distinct and separated. When I slid a window over the edge of the screen, it would not appear partially in the next workspace. Also, the Window Selector had separate sections for each workspace. Now all windows are listed in a single list. I did not change any settings that could explain this.

I've tried to fix this w/ CompizConfig, but can't find anything there that will re-separate by workspaces. There is one setting, under General Options > Desktop Size that indicates that my number of Desktops is 1, though I have 8 virtual workspaces. But, I can't change that number and am now guessing it has to do w/ number of screens?

Anyhow, this is a headache & I've spent a lot of time trying to fix it. Can't seem to find any solution in the forums. Any suggestions?
