I have no experience with video hardware or software. My father has some family videos that he wants to put archive or burn to DVD for safekeeping. The camera stats are:

Camera: Sharp VLAH151 Hi8 Viewcam
Storage Format: Hi8 - HMP, 60min Digital Sony, 120min

To watch the videos, he has a cable that runs from the camera to a VCR, the VCR end has two plug-ins 1.) Yellow head that goes into "video" 2.) White head that goes into "audio."

Can anyone point me into the right direction on what equipment I need to get this video onto my computer so I can edit it later? My PC does not have the yellow/white plug-ins on the back. Is there some adapter I can use that would make it USB?

Any direction would be much appreciated. :D
