I go the bittorrent route unless there isn't a torrent or there's no seeders in which case I'll just use the standard http download. Usually takes < 20 minutes for a typical ~700MB ISO.

Ubuntu standard 64bit usually takes me about 2.5 min minutes through a torrent. I love my internet... but not the provider. Comcast doesn't allow seeding of torrents. ](*,)

I use bit torrent. For a single CD release, it usually takes about 20 minutes, but the distros I prefer are mostly on DVDs. Slackware tops out, the heftiest at 4.1GB, and it takes approximately 2 hours assuming constant speed.

i used to have verizon, used to take 30-40 minutes to get a 700mb iso but thanks to optimum 15mbps, life is much easier.

Verizon was the worst. At&t has been pretty good to me.

It's dependent on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the distro.

i know but im just saying that i use that extension coz it seems to be 10-20% faster than normal firefox download speed. but none of them reach the maximum speed of the internet connection.
