Install Liveusb; create bootable usb

I'm running from a Ubuntu 8.04 Live CD and need to create a bootable USB. Can anyone tell me where to find LIVEUSB that I can install with my very limited Ubuntu knowledge. Basicly need to use Synaptic or have step by step command line procedure. Thanks in advance for your help.

I was under the impression that the 8.04 USB-creator doesn't work properly...

might be wrong though.


sudo apt-get install usb-creator

Run from System>>Administration>>Create Live-USB
