This horrific accident happened today near my home. If you look close you can see the driver being thrown across the highway to the far right side.

Ok, why was somebody driving (probably sitting in the passenger seat) filming the road? It wasn't like it was turned on when they thought something was about to happen, because there was too much lead-up time.
Just curious.
(and yes, it is amazing nobody died)

I got a tinge of fear seeing that, it is no wonder I refuse to drive/ride in cars.

i doubt he was trying to pass anyone - he was still turned towards oncoming traffic when he got airborne.

this looks more like a seizure or sudden loss of conciseness to me.

Looks like he was too fast for the lane and to avoid a collision with the car with the camera, he turned left and went off the road, then bam.

Actually the guy had been arrested earlier for open container and drug paraphernalia etc.... He was released from custody not long before this occurred as he was heading home. The video is from a police cruiser that just happened to be on the same highway, coincidence. Did anyone see the guys body go flying across the road and land in front of another motorist.

It is not a laughing matter no matter why he wrecked. >_< Poor guy.

He must have been going pretty fast (at least 100mph) for his car to tear apart like that. Speed is quadratic-proportional to force and such. Now I hope people realise why speed limits exist.

Metal gets pretty pliable at those speeds.

Our cars are made up of cheap plastic.. >_>

Presumably you mean no one other than the driver? Because if he survived that, well people have died in much less serious accidents.

He was lifting though, must have been doing at least 160-180kmh. And yes, OP, I do believe I see what could be a body scuttering towards another car, though, could be a bumper too.

Could have been that he was speed up behind the cop car, hit the brakes, or simply veered towards the grass, and just lost it. I've been in a few crashes, but nothing anywhere near as bad as that, nothing I didn't walk away from. That said, I've only had my learner permit a few months (my previous experience was all on private roads btw)

This is pretty crazy, one for the way the car fell apart and two for the fact that the whole thing was being filmed! This is mental, I almost wondered if it was a fake.

In this case it was a police cruiser (apparently)
That being said I regularly have a video camera fitted and running whenever I am on my motorbike for safety reasons mainly, someone hits you, video evidence to show it was their fault :P That and it takes some awesome videos of the countryside :P

To some degree, aren't cars built so that as parts go flying it takes some of the force of the crash with it? I thought that was some of the concepts behind race-cars which in part makes them so spectacular when they crash!

This accident was in the local TV news in Brazil today.

Wow in Brazil. Anyone else other than the States see this on the news or media of some nature?
Just to add the fellow is going to live but is facing multiple violations and lots of recovery. News clip:

MASON, Ohio – The mother of an Ohio teen who survived a horrific crash talks about his recovery.

Andrea Eden-Shingleton said 19-year-old Brennan Eden has been upgraded from critical to serious condition, and she said it's a "miracle" he survived.
