As a long time computer user, I have installed Ubuntu on many computer with one hard drive. I have a Full Tower machine with a four core AMD and a Gigabyte motherboard. I have two hard drives that each contain a copy of Windows 7 one is 32 bit and one is 64 bit. I select by bios. There are four other NTFS data drives. I would like to have a Ubuntu on a third drive. I have had problems with dual booting anything, so I was to set up Ubuntu by itself on a removable 640 gig removable drive set up on a SATA caddy. Should I unplug the other drives to avoid Ubuntu trying to set up a mbr boot sector? And is the 64 bit version of Ubuntu worth the effort? I have 8 gig of ram. The computer has dual video cards, will Ubuntu just pick one? I understand Ubuntu will not work dual screen. I may have two or three hard dives set up with variants of Linux as I want to teach open source to students when I retire. Charles L. Mims
