dpkg installation problem

I'm having trouble installing 10.04, from a live dvd. The installation proceeds until 95% complete (running dpkg) then my computer shuts down. I can boot the system, but cannot download upgrades or get cups to work. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Has this happened just once or its repetitive. If it happened once, try a fresh installation, make sure you format the HDD. If its repeating, then consider giving us more information of your hardware. Give us more info.

i am also having this problem although i am not able to boot at all. it has crash everytime i try to install
