View Full Version : [ubuntu] Internet Malfunction with 10.04 Wubi Install

Hi all,

I recently tried to do a Wubi install of 10.04 on my PC; to my disappointment, though, I could not get the Internet to work on the install. My PC is connected via Ethernet cable to my home router and I guess the interface is via an on-board Ethernet card.

Do note that this PC has had a similar problem before: When I upgraded to Win7 Prem from Vista, I could not access the Internet initially. I had to manually set my IP to one that was recognized by my router and manually enter in the default gateway and DNS IP's. This method, however, did not work in the Wubi install -- I was able to enter in all the information I thought was necessary but I still was not able to connect.

Also, note that as of right now, if I do an ipconfig on my PC in the Win7 install, my MAC addr is 0's across... o_O... Should I just get a new network card and give it another shot?

Otherwise, how could I fix this issue?

Thanks!
