I want to test out KDE on my Ubuntu 10.04 install. I've seen plenty of instructions on how to install it, and switch to it, but none tells how to uninstall it. I would like to try it, but i don't think i would keep it. Whats the easiest way to uninstall it without leaving stuff behind? Would it be easiest to use Synaptic Package Manager and just remove kubuntu-desktop when i'm done trying it out?

I just looked on PsychoCats.net, which has a section on their website devoted to anything Ubuntu-related. For Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid Lynx) They say that this is the best way to do it. Just open up a terminal and copy and paste ALL of the following to go back to straight GNOME-based Ubuntu (yes, it's a mouthful! LOL):

After this, you should be back to pure Ubuntu. :-)

ok, so i installed it but i don't get the option at the login screen to choose between KDE or GNOME. On the bar the the bottom it just shows the clock and the shut down button.

Is there something that i need to do to get it to show both?

I used to do this, but you get cruft everywhere.

The best way is to use Virtualbox. You get the full experience. Nothing needs to be uninstalled, because you never really installed it to begin with. Plus, you'll get to check out a version KDE without all your Gnome stuff there. Win-win.
