... when I type this

sudo rmmod -f dell-laptop

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 and had a wired connection, which I recently got rid of. I am dual booting with windows 7. I dont know much about Linux, but I am good at taking commands! Please help.

A few points:

- I cannot see any wireless networks until I enter the command above
- The network icon on the top right corner says "wireless networks disabled" and is grayed out
-
lspci gives me "0c:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 5300 AGN [Shiloh] Network Connection"

I tried looking for solutions everywhere on the internet and to the best of my ability, the only thing that worked, which I have to do everytime I boot my computer is the command shown previously. I dont even know what it does, but it works.

Thanks for your help!
