I am really, really split on this, so I've decided to simply go with the majority. :lolflag: Yes, I know that's a stupid way to do it, but I just can't decide this for some reason.

Which one looks best, the white:

Or the black:

White - clashes less with the screen.

I like the black because it seems like it would be less apt to reflect light while reading outside.

I have(Soon-to-be had) a white kindle 2, and I can tell you that is not a problem. It's very matte.

*cough*DRM (http://www.defectivebydesign.org/amazon-kindle-swindle)*cough*

DRM is beyond the scope if this thread, but I am aware of it. Thing is, Amazon's system works incredibly well, and it's the only e-reader with worldwide 3G, which is a must for me. I'd prefer for Amazon not to have such strict DRM, but I understand why they do. Anyway, I can just push books to my Kindle using Calibre if I really want to get around that system.

I'll bump this thread once, for the first and last time, to get a few more votes. Then I'll let it die a quiet death :p

With the improved contrast, I vote for white. My Kindle 2's screen is much darker than the white case, but it doesn't seem to be much of a problem with the new ones.

I vote black. I've got an older white Kindle but regretted it when the black one came out. There's nothing quite as ugly as a piece of technology that's white.

The black keys will clash less with whatever color you paint it.

Are you white (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_hat) or black (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_hat) hat?

I've voted black but don't actually own one yet. I'm using my Android tablet with Kindle and really like the interface. Will be buying the Kindle for my Mom. It will enable her to read now that print books fonts are to small.

I am so tempted to purchase the latest model. Even though I have no money. Must put away credit card.

I've been digging on the pocketbook line up because their OS makes use of open source applications like fbreader and such. It's tough to pass up wifi readers for $140 but most of my ebooks are .pdf and most brands don't support .pdf very well yet.

Do it. I did. Not one regret.

I don't have one but by looking at the pictures I will choose black. Unless you alyway read in the dark than its better to get white so it won't get lost in the dark.
