Some newbie questions about Ubuntu

Hi there.


I am new to Ubuntu and I want to test it on my netbook. I have Acer Aspire One D250 and I want to know if there any hardware will not work after installing it. I am planning to make a new partition for the half size of my original hdd (100+ GB free). Is it enough??


Just this for now.

50 GB is plenty of space.

Best is first to boot with a live CD to ensure that everything works on your hardware.

I tested it with my netbook. The wireless didn't work and mic as well.

I will search later in the forum to see if there any one solve the problem.

It is common that the wirefree does not work from a live CD. Best is to install having wired access and then do the fixes for the wirefree connection later. Normally it is a simple job.
