Hi all!
2 Questions, sort-of.
I would appreciate some clarification as to what exactly the differences are between the different Ubuntu Flavours. Are all flavours essentially the server edition with different packages installed on top (Gnome, KDE, Unity, XFCE etc.) If you did "apt-get remove gnome-desktop", "apt-get install KDE-desktop" (or whatever they are called). Will what you get be identical to Kubuntu?
I have an 64-bit capable atom netbook and am thinking that I may as well make full use of that 64-bit goodness by installing the server edition + Unity interface instead of just the (32-bit) UNE. Will I be missing out on any non-desktop tweaks that would have come with UNE (eg. kernel optimised for intel atoms?) anything else like that? What do y'all think?
Thank-you community!
Luke
