Hi
I am new to Ubuntu and I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

My problem is After installing Ubuntu on my laptop I have attempted to install the drivers found else where in the forum.
I have manged to place the driver files in the correct driver location, but cannot seem to find the file Xorg.config anywhere within the filesystem.
I have also tried the terminal approach by logging out and using ctrl+alt+F1 but my screen is garbaged as if the refresh rate for the resolution is incorrect. This forces me to reboot as I cannot see to regain the login.
So now I am at a loss at how to get the destop resolution beyond 800x600

Any advice would be much appreciated
Thanks

Moderator please remove this thread,
unfortunately 14hours of frustration have made me decide to re-install MS Vista. I maybe try again when there is enough driver support, or I upgrade my Notebook.
