I just read a similar thread on the freebsd forum, just with the favorite text based applications, here I would however also like to know your favorite graphical apps (as in require X11 to run).
I would like to start with writing mine
Graphical:
Firefox
Emacs
- that is probably it I live in the console
Text based:
screen
emacs
irssi
links/lynx/elinks
rtorrent
grep/egrep
ncdu
binclock.py
mc (Gnu Midnight commander)
- Well that is just my most used applications I am sure there are some others. ncdu is du with ncurses interface really nice.
