Gtkpod won't recognize 1st Gen iPod Touch

I'm running Ubuntu 10.04, and I have a first generation 16GB iPod Touch. It auto-mounts and appears as a desktop icon, but when using GTKpod it cannot be recognized. I just recently switched to Ubuntu after years of using the same iPod in windows. I am somewhat new to Linux, so could someone please help me learn how to sync my iPod.

I'm having the same problem. I'm googling right now, and I came across your thread. If I find something, I'll post it here.

BTW which FW are you running on your Itouch. I'm running FW 3.1.2 and it's jailbroken.
