PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make your blog say something!!

I can't tell you the number of blogs I have been directed to that just are a random collection of stuff

Sorry but your posts seem a little random. The best blogs are those that focus on a topic IMHO.

Mine can be found at www.deadsuperhero.com

I'm working on an epic post about game development and frustration. Should be done by the end of today. :)

My blog is at ihatehate.wordpress.com (http://ihatehate.wordpress.com). I write about a variety of subjects, including computers and Linux. But I'm not too good at keeping it up to date - sometimes I post more than once a day, sometimes I might not write anything for a month or more. Which obviously means I don't get as many readers as I'd like. I know, I know, I should pull my finger out and just get on with it. But laziness and the TV are so alluring... Anyway, how am I meant to blog regularly when people here keep starting threads that I have to respond to? :p

see my sig.
As you can see I have cleverly deflected all the criticism coming in my way by an apt choice of a title and description.

Hello All

My personal and professional Web site is here (http://bodmas.org/).

It used to be published using the WordPress script (for 5 years), and I think WordPress is a great open source project, to which I donated money.

Then I began to realise that I wasn't posting even once a week, nearer once a month. So I changed over to using some bash scripts and lftp (http://bodmas.org/pages/20100221--web_how_this_site_is_published.html) to publish my Web site from my desktop PC.

If I was starting a Web site now and not 10 years ago, I would probably be using wordpress.com or google pages rather than paying for a domain!

As fatality_uk says, the really useful and successful blogs I see tend to be about one topic that the author knows a lot about.

I thought most blogs by ubuntuforums members would be technical. I am pleased they are not.
Also what if I start threads in community forums linking to technical posts in my blog. Would it be cheap or ok?

I have a infrequently updated personal blog. Some computer related stuff, but mostly my libertarian slanted views on certain issues
http://daddywarcrimes.blogspot.com/

I also participate (when I have something interesting to write about) on a blog for work. There are several authors, I'm the cynical one.

My web site has a blog but, I don't participate on it much. There is much more interesting stuff on my site than words in my blog. See my signature. ;)

I don't have a blog as such, but have a web site that is a basic collection of "stuff". Some of the content, which isn't directly linked to from the main page, is aimed at deflecting spammers who try a 419 scam (http://www.419scam.org/) on me, e.g. this page (http://lisati.homelinux.com/payment). See my sig for more links.

Not my page. Link included for the curious.

I'm scared! The bottom of the page detected my IP address and stated I live in a city 20 miles away.

Ooh, another blog thread :D

See signature; I mostly write about random stuff, but tend to focus on technical things. I'm currently in the process of re-designing and overhauling it, so it might be broken.

The method it uses to figure out someone's location isn't infallible, and has more to do with with the registration information provided for the particular IP block than the user's actual location. It shows me to be in a city 600km away!

Currently, my only blag is the one in my sig ( http://leifandersen.net ), although that's mainly just a personal rant location/dumping ground for myself. However, I am trying to get a website for myself as a freelance coder (who is eventually working at founding a larger business), but alas, I've yet to find a good (available) name for it. (Which really is the only limiting factor at the moment).

since nobody responded to my question about starting a thread linking to my ubuntu-related blog post, I will be starting one.
