I was looking to upgrade from Windows XP to Ubuntu 10.04, so downloaded the iso image and burned it to a CD. I booted from the CD, selected "Try Ubuntu" and liked what I saw (while it lasted).

The problem is that my PC freezes after a few minutes (2 to 5) of using Ubuntu. By Freeze, I mean; no mouse pointer movement, keyboard locked up, and monitor stops responding.

My PC specs are:

HP Pavilion A6220A
CPU Intel Dual Core E2140 @ 1.6GHz
RAM 1024MB DDR2
Chip Set Intel 82945G
Graphics Intel GMA 950
Keyboard Standard 101/102 PS/2
Mouse Logitech USB HID compliant MX500

I had the same problem on the same PC many months ago with Ubuntu 9.10. Then I just gave up and went back to XP.

After searching the forums, the only "solution" that I can find is to dump 10.04 and use Ubuntu 8.10.

Maybe this will help:

I know it is not much. Write again if there still is a driver problem.
