Hi,
From Synpatic in Ubuntu I installed Kubuntu-desktop and I choose kdm to be default display manager.

When I logout or restarting the computer, I see the login window of Kubuntu and I choose KDE, but it always does not able to complete login. after inserting the user name and the password, I just see the blue screen of Kubuntu with hard drive icon and then a blank screen for a bit of second then finally the login screen again.

I could not access my computer through KDE at all, I have to choose Gnome to load ordinary Ubuntu.

I wonder and ask How could I solve this problem and making Kubuntu run successfully

Hi,
Is there no answer?!!

I'd like to note that I have installed compiz and compiz fusion icon for special effects on Ubuntu Gnome.

Where could I find any log for errors related to loading Kubuntu?

My Ubuntu is 10.04.

Should I have to remove Compiz?

I have separate /boot partition with 50 MB size. Does this the possible reason for login loop of KDE ?

sorry I had a suggestion but re-read your post and see it does not apply.
