If your 10.04 distro is up to date, does that make it 10.04.1?

Yes, it does. The LTS point releases are to include various bug fixes released since the original release date on the installation CD.

The original 10.04.1 release date was July 17, but the new date is August 12. No idea why it hasn't been released yet. It will be released when it's deemed ready.

edit:
WOOPS! Looks like it was updated to the 17th, but now another update has been made to August 19. Just check the Fridge (http://fridge.ubuntu.com) and grab 10.04.1 when you see an announcement.

Yes, it does.

I figured, cause of:
xxxxxx@xxxxxx:~$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release: 10.04
Codename: lucid

So the point release is just regular LTS, but with all the included updates to that point?

Spot on.

That is how it works.

Those who receive pre-released updates may have the bulk of the changes already.
