Have you tried contacting them and asking? They probably don't have a port for Linux because they probably think very few to no one wants it on Linux and don't want to waste time on porting to somewhere that it won't be used on. Additionally they could be linux virgins and don't even know it exists or think of linux as the stereo type hacker console type of OS that really no one uses.

You need to ask Oovoo why. A couple of years ago they mentioned a linux version was in development, but I haven't heard any news about it since.
Have a look at goober messenger as an alternative. You can video chat with up to six people, and it also runs on linux.

Nice. Yeah, I checked that program out a while back, hoping they'd get a Linux version. That was way back, like two years ago, when I was just getting started with Linux. :O I should ask them, too.

Update: I let them know, and requested they get back to me with their official feedback form. I hope this goes somewhere.

We should start a petition and see if that helps. :P

Because you haven't ported it yet.

It won't, if petitions did anything we'd have ports for almost every major game/application out there.

I'm guessing Oovoo is closed-source? Because if it is, I highly doubt they will port it to linux unless you're able to get a job with their company, since I've found nearly all closed-source companies don't give out source to linux users. Yknow, it's one of those copyright things.

Why isn't Photoshop on Linux?

Because Linux users only communicate over IRC.

Apparently the ooVoo people have been working on a Linux port since 2007. Yes, 5 years. This tells me that ooVoo will never get ported. Even if it does, it will be a poor-quality port.

There is an API at http://www.tokbox.com/ that is open source. I don't know much about it, but their site shows some screen shots of ooVoo-like 4-people video chats.
