I play AssaultCube sometimes and Savage 2! :P Those are free ones.
Heroes of Newerth is a good paid game. Although, I don't know how to play it. I think my free trial is over though. :P

Some of them look like they have pretty impressive 3D graphics.
Also there are a huge number of Windows games that work well under wine as long as your card supports OpenGL 2.0 (ATI or nVidia will, Intel will only with the newer ones) - including World of Warcraft, Starcraft II, Civilization IV, Steam, and I think most games coming out right now.

Me and a bunch of people started a gaming clan in our LoCo, we play Urban Terror and Enemy Territory over the net. Plus a whole bunch of other games.
Planeshift is worth a try, its quite buggy on my machine, but you might have better luck.

Enemy Territory and Urban Terror are pretty awesome for FPS type of games. World of Goo for thinking/puzzle type of games. There's always the tons of free flash games online. Oh yeah, what about the game everyone loves to hate: Farmville.
I want farmville to die. Oh yeah, and cartown.
