View Full Version : How do I change the ubuntu start menu

this may be something entirely impossible or seem silly thing to ask,
but I wanne have my menu which I navigate programms look like this: http://eduardovalle.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/ubuntustartmenu.png?w=516&h=317

anyone can point me in the right direction? search is being evil to me.

It is easily possible for you to do this...

At the login screen, select your name but do not sign in yet...

... at the bottom of the screen there is a little menu called "Sessions", simply select GNOME from this menu. Then continue to log in as normal with your password (if you have to enter it)

The pictures in the links show firstly the standard gnome menu, whereas the second link show the UNR interface. Editing the Main Menu wont achieve this in the netbook remix

Just curious, but what was it set to? I could not reproduce your screen before you changed it to gnome.
The only options I had was gnome recovery, gnome (default) and something about ssh terminal
which only opened up a box in the top right.

EDIT: I didn't see the UNR option.

No problem, just to let you know, it will now be set to GNOME automatically until you change it back (if you ever wish to) at login

Do you have UNR installed or the desktop version of ubuntu?
