After a recent update I am unable to listen to a local radio station, I restored a backup from last week and everything is now fine, but I am afraid to do any updates because I do not know which one caused the problem.

Any suggestions?

Hi ebasa,

Can you give the address of this stream and what software you are using to play it?

Using Firefox www.680news.com/listenLive, (http://www.680news.com/listenLive)
I currently have 25 updates waiting but afraid to install, don't see anything that may affect this other than the kernel updates???

Hi
That station's playing OK for me in the browser.
It takes a while to buffer though.

Maybe you haven't got the Firefox plugins installed.
The one that I have is gecko-mediaplayer. Install it from Synaptic Package Manager if you like.
:D

Works fine for me too, until I do the current updates, then nada...so not the plugin problem, have you installed all current updates?

Yes, Like I have stated IT WORKS FINE UNTIL i DO THE UPDATES, now installing one by one since no one can seem to help, have 17 left to go

OK, I see now, I lost the "thread". Sorry but I haven't seen this issue anywhere so not sure how to help. The kernel update is the likely culprit as it affects so much and can undo audio fixes by rewriting them with the stock versions (alsa). I'm pretty confident that's fixable though.

OK have it narrowed down to either base-files or kernel2.6.32-24, don't want to install then unless I know how to fix the problem, don't think I have ever customized any audio files. And the problem only seems to affect the one stream, everything else seems to work fine.
