task bar/bottom panel crashed

Hi

I installed UBUNTU LTS.
BUt the bottom panel in which opened windows are shown has crashed.
Can somebody tell how to restore the bottom panel.

Right click the top panel, select "add new panel".

A blank new panel should pop up on the bottom.

Click "add to panel" --> "Window List" to restore a side-by-side layout of which programs are currently running.

Feel free to tinker around with all the other things you can add to the panel! Some are very nifty!
