I have a PC that I have run Ubuntu on previously. I wanted to start with a new hard drive.

I booted the 10.4 disc and it went into the desktop. There was a problem recognizing the HD. So I switched off and had to make some changes in the bios to recognize the SATA drives.

BIOS recognizes the HD now and the CD drive. I boot and get the purple screen with the keyboard icon and a man icon. I hit enter and asks the language and come to the choices. The memory test works fine, but the choices of Try without installing and the Install Ubuntu go to a blinking cursor in the top left hand corner and goes no further. The CD drive doesnt show any activity after clicking one of those choices.

I have changed bios making the CD a master and a slave, but the same results. I burned another disc and the same thing

My motherboard is a MSI 865PE Neo2-V

I've since added a USB CD drive and that does the exact same thing
