Installation

When I try to install Ubuntu, it gives me an error reading "uncompressed error System halted" and does nothing. I have downloaded and installed the file 3 different times on two different computers. Any ideas?

Are you talking about a Wubi installer?

What are your computer specs., RAM, disk capacity, graphics card etc.?

Did you verify the MD5SUM of the ISO before burning it to CD?

Not sure what a Wubi installer is, I downloaded Ubuntu 10.04 from the Ubuntu website, then ran the start up disk creator and put had it run to my thumb drive. The computer is solid, it has 10.04 on it now, I think I went a little hay wire with the tweaking and messed something up, so now I want to re-format the computer. For arugment's sake, it has a Intel Atom 420 processor i think with integrated graphics, 2 gigs of ram 500gb hdd. I really think i messed something up and I don't know how to fix it, the hdd is already backed up, I just need to get the formatting taken care of.
