my current wallpaper is dedicated towards paramore/selena gomez & the scene/and taylor swift. (rotating wallpapers) (and I currently have an obsession with paramore... which is one of the reasons why its in the list).

assuming your using kde, system settings -> desktop -> multiple desktops . check the "use different" box and it should run. (or is it uncheck the box?, yeah, I dont remember since my computer's drying, but im sure its in the multiple desktops tab)

I think Compiz will do this, but you have to let it draw the desktop, not Nautilus. So you can't have desktop icons if you do it that way.

Oh, that's lame. Why can't you have multiple wallpapers and icons? That doesn't make sense.

Please read the instructions in carlee's thread starter:

attach it as a thumbnail or a link so people with slow connections wont load this page forever...

The next images that aren't attachments or links will be removed.

I wonder if the Gnome Shell will have such features. I would hope so, if it is simple to implement. I also think the appearance properties should add slideshow creation. (You can make slideshows but I think you need an xml file.)

Yeah kind of, I know you could use a screensaver as your dektop, and you can make a video as your screensaver so you could probably make that video into your desktop.

Very simple, not much to it. The first image is just 18x18, the second is the same image tiled to 800x600. I usually use it at 1024x768.

I currently am using one of the Ubuntu default wallpapers, being too lazy to find something better, but I have terminator as part of my background :D

(It's really easy to do - terminator has window role and layout command line options, and using the Window role you can configure everything in ccsm so that it will behave just like a desktop background, except that it can get keyboard focus)

Zorgoth

Well, if you could find a fullscreen video player where you could give the window some distingushing feature (role, type, class, title, etc), you could just set the Window Rules appropriately in compiz (Fullscreen, Below, No Focus, etc.) - the same way i put terminator in my background, except you wouldn't want transparecy and you'd want to set "No Focus" in Window Rules.

- however, personally, I would consider that a bigtime waste of CPU and RAM - lol.

I like anime (if it's especially pretty) and abstract stuff. Here's a couple of favorites.

I have two that I use. I really enjoy the retro look of Steampunk and the DUST theme (prior to the oversized handles on the left and right). Also, I'm a bit of a car enthusiast.

The first one, I made... I didn't like the look of the brighter looking colors that I found on DevientArt... so I toned it down quite a bit. The second one, that's a professional take of my car, I've done some more to it, and have set up another photoshoot later this year.

Could you upload the full size to imageshack please?

I'm also hoping you don't actually have a square monitor...

Here's mine.

It's a possible look at what Mars would be like during and after a terraforming process. I have it tiled so it goes across the entire screen.

I actually had to go find a lower resolution image. I got it from Wikipedia. Here's the link to the original - http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:MarsTransitionV.jpg

My current wallpaper is a picture of Kapiti Island (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kapiti_Island). Last month it was of the Porirua (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porirua) Stream.

No, the pictures are not straight from the camera but are original.
