How can I configure WINE for gaming?
I used to play MU Online games in WINE.
With WINE 0.9.11, graphics is improved. But not that smooth compared to running the game in Windows.
Is there a way to configure or to optimize WINE for games?

Have you run winecfg and done everything possible in there?

There really isn't any other options you can do unless you are a programmer and look over the source and suggest stuff to them ;)

I've just had luck running Star Wars Battlefront 2 in Ubuntu 10.10 with Wine 1.2.2, no special configs were required. Yeah it's an old game but my hardware is also old. Other than long load times for the levels and the fact I had to run the game in 'Safe Mode' it works just fine. I've played a couple of levels and they seem to work just fine.

It seems to be the consensus that not all games are compatible with wine. If you can't find any info, then I suggest you just try to run it. You might get the game you want to work, you never know.

Here is what worked for me for BF2.
