I've experienced Ubuntu on more than one occasion lastly with V8. I have to admit I experienced issues then but keep my eye out. I read a review of V10 and decided to try the demo first. After being pleased it found my network with much more ease than Win7 I tried to play an AVI, then an mpg. So no joy. Went to get VLC and found a need to add Universe in the the package manager, nothing new there. I waited while the reload happened then the re-indexing. Oh Firefox died and would not re-load. Then that was all she wrote. Menus no longer respond. The Kill switch was the end of V10. No chance to even do anything remotely useful! Not a good advert.

Update and Restart. What menu wasn't responding? Was it in an application? Try Debian:

Try Linux Mint:

What are your system specs? Brand, model, processor, and RAM are important to know. Were there a lot tabs open or a video steaming? Were you multitasking? Is your music DDRM free? We are here to help. Tell us and we can help. Please give more info.

We will need to know what kind of music he is trying to play. Of course, I love Ubuntu-restricted-extras.
