ubuntu Chess issue

Once i start up the chess, for some strange reason, it hangs for about 5 min. b4 the game starts up, Do anyone know the cause of this issue?

No - but it seems to beat me ever-time without a glitch. I would like a let me win bug now and again!!

yeah, i gave up on trying to make it work on.
