I'm 18 right now, 19 in July. Was a bit confused with the poll choices for a moment though, since 18 appears in 2 options. Then it made a bit of sense; under and over 18.....

40.. just barely... (laughing)

Not making fun of anyone... but.. I find it funny how when we are young we like to post the 1/2 years... and "I'm almost this.. or almost that.." At a certain age... the "almost" that you would rather be is the younger and not the older.. oh well.. I say "Enjoy the one you're on because you don't get to do any of them twice!"

67.

I'm a retired computer science professor. I didn't think much about my age until a few years ago. I mentioned in one of my classes that I had designed part of the guidance system for the Gemini space capsule. One of my students said, "Really? My grandfather worked on that, too." It was around that time that I realized my students' parents were beginning to look young to me.

Near as I can tell, the highest priority in life is to get older!

I am usually the eldest member of these forums, thus "old_geekster". I am 61 yoa.

I have been using computers since the dark-ages; 1984. Bill Gates was just I pup when a began using an Apple "MAC". It had one 3.5" internal floppy drive. Boy, when I added my external floppy drive, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. This nearly eliminated disk swapping. WOW!

Great attitude.

I have always felt that age didn't matter when it comes to computers. I, for instance, overclock, game (1st person shooters) and do everything that a younger person would do on a computer. I have Windows on one HDD and Ubuntu on the other. I even play music, 50's R N' R and other genre's.

I probably will never give up Windows, because of gaming, but that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy Linux.

I don't believe that there is any place for politics on this, or any other, computer "help" website.

I hope the Admin and Mods don't consider this moderating, because I simply am stating my views, as did our fellow poster.

I'm 63. When I was a teenager in the 1960s I remember seeing a British government department installing a computer that was nearly as big as a football field. It ate punched cards. I never got to work on it, sadly.

Posts like yours generally result in people making rude jokes about uptight, self-righteous conservatives. Both sides are wrong in these cases. Let's not start a silly flame war.

The thread topic is "How old are you?" with no political agenda whatsoever. I suggest we enjoy and continue discussing that.
