View Full Version : [ubuntu] How to install VLC manually!

Hi,

I know how to install VLC via terminal

sudo aptitude install -vlc

But i want to know how to install VLC manually by downloading package or something like that ... i googled but i didn't found anything .. if anyone knows lemme know please.

Like compiling from source? http://sourceforge.net/projects/vlc/files/1.1.2/vlc-1.1.2.tar.bz2/download

It shows the page and redirecting the page in 10 seconds showing the error

" Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to space.dl.sourceforge.net "

Can you provide me another link please ...

Works fine if FF 4b2...

Reckon your problem is chrome...

Dammit, forgot to cancel the download, now I have a vlc tarball...

Sadly FF is also giving same error :'( is there any alternative ?? if so please lemme know.
