Hello all,

I noticed that it takes about 5 seconds for Nautilus to load and about 2-10 seconds (usually closer to 4) to switch directories. This is an ongoing thing, even persistent after formatting/reinstalling. As annoying and obvious as it already is, when Im moving quickly, I spend most of my time waiting for the computer to catch up. Anyone else have this issue? Any tips to speed things up?

I run a EEEPC 901,
2gb memory,
SolidState disks,
EXT2 & EXT4 FS's,
FS avg 33% usage, none over 60%,
The processor is not loaded,
memory is at 33% usage by progs, rest cache,
Assistive technologies OFF

I have found that using the "Icon View" mode speeds things up considerably , especially when you have folders with lots of files inside. :)
