Hello i was hopeing to ask 2 questions about the upcoming java 7.

firstly does anyone know the official release date.

and secondly what are some of the MAJOR new features in java 7.

Also references would also be very nice.

A new garbage collector? Maybe java will suck a little bit less :).

New garbage collector is good. Java 6 was a bit of a pig.

Java 7 is probably going to come out sometime the end of this year, but there is no guarantee. Oh and arguably Java is the fastest language outside of C/C++. :)

Java 7 release has always been delayed. Hope it doesn't this time.
