Hello Folks!
I wonder , why doesn't Ubuntu offers updates for JAVA?
I installed Java with the help of this forum using command::
"sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin"
Though Ubuntu contains Java now BUT it is not the latest version!?Neither I caught hold of any updates through System>>Administration>>Update Manager?
ON verifying Java through their website, it do asks me ::: Oops..your version is not the latest & bla..bla..bla.
Is there an easy way out there to install the latest version of Java without having to grapple with .tar..etc. kind of 'Weird' file formats?
Why don't you come out with a straight forward .deb package for JAVA?;)
